A large crowd of Rossmoyne/ Mountain neighbors brought their lawn chairs and picnics to Nibley Park on August 2nd to participate in National Night Out, a nationwide annual event to promote city and police partnerships with the community. Local Boy Scouts supervised games for the kids, a Glendale Fire Department engine roared up, Glendale Police worked the crowd, K-9 dogs sniffed around and local dignitaries stopped by for a visit. Neighbors found each other under street signs held aloft by their Neighborhood Watch block captains and sat together to catch up on summer news. When it got dark, everyone grabbed a bag of popcorn and settled down for the main event, a movie in the park. This year the feature was “Night at the Museum”. As dinosaurs and dioramas came to life, Rossmoyne/Mountain neighbors wrapped themselves up against the evening chill and enjoyed a lovely night.
