Just west of the Rossmoyne Historic District boundary but still within the greater Rossmoyne neighborhood of today is the historic subdivision of Bellehurst Park. Developed in the 1920s by Walter H. Leimert of the Leimert Company (also known for developing
Leimert Park and Baldwin Hills in greater Los Angeles), the subdivision of Bellehurst Park incorporates many home styles (Spanish, Mediterranean, Tudor and Normandy to name a few) and an infrastructure similar to that of historic Rossmoyne and typical of the planned communities created in the 1920s. In 1984, the California Historical Society honored the Walter H. Leimert Company by presenting an award to the Leimert family for its having been involved in California Real Estate for over 100 years.The company still exists to this day.
